The weekend was full of things to do. Our weekend started on Friday as GCS Santa Ana started the Cosmic Beings in-store tour. Orko and Dulok brought it to Santa Ana in full force. Saturday they blessed us in Pomona for another segment of their in-store tour. Once again a great turn out with amazing performances by all the artists. We found some old footage of a Visionaries in-store we had back in 2007 at the Pomona location. We had a heavy crowd that night filling the floor at the GCS/Radio Futura complex. People lined up outside our doors and around the block to get a chance to check out the Visionaries for free. This was right after they dropped the Pangea album. It was one of our biggest and busiest in-stores to-date. Thanks to the Visionaries for coming through that day. We had a lot of fun. Remember we still carry Visionaries CD’s in stores. Enjoy!
So the Radio Futura crew made a trip out to GCS Santa Ana for the 1st Saturday art show and Day of the Dead celebration. We got a chance to hang out with the Santa Ana crew and check out some great art work. Last year we had the privilege of having Bocafloja and DJ Ethos perform in Pomona for a free in-store. For those of you that are not familiar with Bocafloja, he is an inspiring Hip Hop lyricist/MC out of Mexico City. His lyrics touch on social, political, and every day life issues. Leo had a chance to record some of his set for your viewing pleasure. We hope to have him again next time he is in town. Don’t forget we have his albums and DVD’s available online and in-stores. Oh boy was it a busy weekend. Halloween madness at the 12th annual Monster Massive in LA this Saturday was full of great costumes and music. The night started late for us due to a slight delay (people cutting in line and sh!t), but we got in with enough time to get our drink on. Ok so we get customers coming into the store asking what those big round things on the wall are? Hey get your mind out of the gutter! They are talking about the vinyl records. Yes they ask and we are happy to answer. There aren’t many stores carrying 12” vinyl anymore, so we understand why the question is asked. So when this question is asked I always want to show them this video. Discovery channel did a special once on how those big round things on the wall are made.
