NEW IN THE SHOP

More New T-shirts

February 3rd, 2012

Here are some t-shirts we have received in the shop over the past couple of weeks. Check them out. Especially, the Vendetta “Where Hip Hop Died” Tee. You either like it (actually love it), or you hate it.   In some ways it is true, although they still play some rap artists, they play way more Hip House Electro Swag Pop Hop. In any case check out the new tees, there are a couple more after the jump.

MC Prototype Chasing Dreams EP Video Skits

January 19th, 2012

Over the last couple of months MC Prototype has been releasing videos skits promoting his upcoming release-the Chasing Dreams EP. The most recent skit features 2Mex. Everyone at Radio Futura and GCS has the utmost respect for 2Mex. Over the last 15+ years, he has always supported the stores and, whenever possible, we have also supported him. If you ever get a chance, go to one of his shows, he always gives 110%. In my opinion, 2Mex is the hardest working MC in Los Angeles! Here is his video skit with MC Prototype….after the jump, you can see the rest of the video skits with Cookbook and Uno Mas, Scarub, Trek Live, and Ivan Ives.

Curren$y At the Fox Pomona

January 18th, 2012

This was the show that just keeps on giving….content, I mean. I was looking through the photos from that night and I realized I had also recorded some video. That night, luckily, I was able to borrow some light from the videographers standing next to me in the pit to record this video. I didn’t physically borrow the light, I just stood really close to them and “borrowed” their light…nah mean? The lighting is decent but I do need to invest in a boom microphone if I want to record more performers. Check it out…it’s my first attempt. Oh, and, I ain’t gonna front, can someone help me with the title of the song he is performing?

Sick Jacken, NME, ECID, AWOL ONE @ The Glasshouse

January 18th, 2012

Here are some shots I took on September 16th, 2011 at the Glasshouse in Pomona. It was a Sick Jacken, NME, Awol One, and ECID Show…at least those were the artists/performers that I got to see. Hey, it takes me a while to get to Pomona from Alhambra! Enjoy the photos!

MC Futuristic The Flytrap

January 17th, 2012

I’ve been listening to the new Flytrap CD Release by MC Futuristic….excellent release. I especially like tracks 14, 15, and 16. Track 15 is my personal favorite, I can listen to it all day…on repeat..I’m a sucker for female vocals on a hip hop track. Click on the image to go to his bandcamp page….or go beyond the jump and listen to track 15-”Butterfly”

January 17th, 2012

Well, today we are going back to November 2011. We had the distinct pleasure of attending the Back 2 Basics 1 Year anniversary party. We shot some photos of the event and we had the privilege of listening to 6BLOCC aka R.A.W. tear it up on the decks. Great evening, GREAT EVENT. Make sure you head out to any Back 2 Basics event, YOU WILL BE GLAD YOU DID!

CURTISS KING / MC FUTURISTIC @ GCS POMONA

January 16th, 2012

Pomona was bumping last weekend, on Friday the Curren$y / Dom Kennedy show rocked the Fox (see the previous posts).  On Saturday, GCS Pomona featured MC Futuristic, Curtiss King, One.Step.Ahead., Catch Lungs, and The Noise 328 for an in store performance. From what people told me, the entire show was great. I only got there in time to listen to MC Futuristic. Great MC. I suggest you listen to his Butterfly track (feat AJA BLACK) from his new CD release “The Fly Trap”. In a word, it is AWESOME.  Here are the only photos I took from the show.
